Mecca Beauty Loop Review

If you love beauty and live in Australia then you will no doubt have heard of Mecca.

For those on the other side of the pond who’ve never heard of Mecca before, then basically it is every beauty, skincare and fragrance lovers’ sanctuary.

The website mecca.com.au is stocked with a variety of products that promote the feeling of glowy and scented gorgeousness… I feel like I just created a new thing?!

I mean, glowy-gorgeousness…yup, I want all of that!

If you don’t know me, then let me tell you that I am a sucker for skincare. Read more about that here. I’m the kind of girl who would n’o think twice about spending my hard earned dough on a good serum, moisturiser or body scrub.

I could have no clothes in my wardrobe but a cabinet full of skincare, so when I get rewarded for my spending habits, I feel all the more appreciated. You got this loyalty thing down-pat, Mecca!

For some reason I wasn’t signed up to receive their emails so I missed out on previous beauty boxes. I recommending checking your subscription details to ensure you are first to hear when they drop their release.

I was mega excited to collect my beauty loop box as it was the first time I got to enjoy all the goodies inside.

How often does Mecca send out Beauty Loop boxes?

Beauty Loop happens four times a year and is based on various levels of spend (or ‘recognition’ as Mecca coin it.) I qualified for the Level 2, aka the ‘Beauty Devotee’ box, which has some coveted samples from gorgeous brands including Korres, Stila Cosmetics, Drunk Elephant and Hourglass Cosmetics. All brands which I’ve not tried before or in a while.

So, what did I get in my beauty loop box?

Korres | Wild Rose Foaming Cream Cleanser

I mean, how gorgeous does that sound?! Despite the ‘wild rose’ in the name, the scent is very subtle and fresh. It is not overpowering which is a huge plus for me as I am not keen on overbearing floral scents. I have not tried this out yet but am excited to and will keep you in the ‘loop’ – get it ;)! Ok, embarrassing I know… moving on.

Drunk Elephant | LaLa Retro Whipped Cream

Described on TDE website as a ‘multi-faceted rescue cream that provides replenishing barrier support by reinforcing skin’s acid mantle and defending against the effects of everyday stressors’. Sounds great! The texture is definitely as described… whipped – light and airy!

It’s blended with six rare Africal oils & gets raving reviews online too. Clearly the brand takes time to research and develop a statement product, so this is another little gem I am excited to try.

Stila Cosmetics | Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick

I couldn’t resist wearing the Stila Cosmetics in the Rouge Γ‘ Levres shade as soon as I got the sample. It was definitely noticed in work by some of my colleagues and a few people were asking me what I was wearing. Just like the name, it really does have serious staying power and isn’t drying by any means. Stay tuned for a little update and review on that soon :)!

Hourglass Cosmetics | Veil Mineral Primer

This will be the first Hourglass product I’ll have tried and I can’t wait to give it a go. Sometimes I feel like my skin looks shinier at the end of the day when wearing a primer. However, I’m hoping this one has more of a matte finish to compliment my usually natural-lightweight foundation.

As this was my first box, I can’t compare to previous ones. However, I have heard that there can be some duplicate products across the various gifts throughout the year. This is great if you fall in love with a newly discovered product, but if not then I imagine the repetition would get pretty frustrating.

This photo is of a beauty box in the top right hand corner with product samples laid down on a table. It shows a tub of facial cleanser with red label, an eye cream with purple lid and a tube of red lipstick.

Did you pick up your box? What products did you receive? Tell me all :)!

Until next time…
