“Wow” is the first word that comes to mind when driving up to the beautiful Meletos. In the heart of the Yarra Valley region its’ tranquil, picturesque, blissful and relaxing views cannot disappoint. I also took my family here when they visited last year and we enjoyed a delicious lunch. So grab a cuppa and enjoy…. p.s. you may just want to plan a visit!
Meletos is around an hour north-east of Melbourne in the Yarra Valley region, which is renowned for celebrated wineries and produce.
According to their website, “Meletos has taken an abandoned collection of century-old farm buildings and created something truly extraordinary” – I could not agree more! The lavender plants against stone and planted backdrops gives off a very European vibe (which I LOVE).
There’s something to be said about greenery in any space – it just makes everything feel more calm and serene.
Something really refreshing about Meletos is that they source all their produce locally – supporting an array of neighbouring businesses. It’s so easy these days to jump into the supermarket but there is beauty in the fact that local is as greatly supported here in Melbourne. Since making the move a few years ago, I have a new found respect for supporting and buying local, even though it may cost a little extra at times – it’s worth it! They also bake fresh bread daily… ready to pay them a visit yet? I can’t remember what my family ordered food-wise but they all raved about how yummy it was. I opted for the scallops which were delicious… so good in fact that I ate one before taking the pic.
The setting, food, wine and company at Meletos were all just perfect. It really was such a beautiful day.
Does anyone else agree that if a restaurant/hotel/venue has a nice clean bathroom and good facilities then (as sad as it sounds) it gets an extra seal of approval? Yep, you guessed it, the Meletos ladies room was nice and clean.
There was also a beautiful little shop “The Providor” nearby. I considered the best way to describe it but honestly, their website says it all (swoon)!
“Carefully curated with local produce, unique homewares and seasonal flowers direct from the farm, The Providore at Meletos is a celebration of our creative region. There are so many passionate and hard working producers, farmers and doers in the Yarra Valley that we are so excited to work with. Complimenting the ethos of Seasoned – our in-house newspaper, The Providore really is an extension of the publication – know your produce, where it came from and who made it. Our calendar of dinners and Meet Your Maker events are a fantastic way to fully appreciate the produce and get to know the talented people behind it.” Read more here.
I highly recommend a visit to Meletos! Have you been before?
