Okay, so it’s been a while! A lot longer than I had anticipated.
There’s been a few life changing events recently (something for another time) but, long-story-short, I lost my mojo. And in the myriad of happenings, I have found it hard to channel my thoughts and, well, be happy I guess.
Seen as there is no time like the present, I wanted to start writing and blogging again. Thanks for sticking around for the comeback (and by comeback I mean having a good old down-to-earth, no frills chat) I write this whilst sipping a cuppa’ in my comfies and fluffy socks, #realtalk.
Let’s see how this goes… Who knows if I will even hit the ‘publish’ button?! If you’re reading this, then it means I DID IT!
So, what is the point of the blog post? At first I thought, nothing really…just the need to let out some thoughts and built-up emotion but then I decided, NOPE! I can turn this into something positive, so here we are.
Five things that I have learned over the past 6 months…
Happiness starts from within
The first thing I
have learned am learning is that happiness starts from within. The only person that can make you happy, is you. (Promise I’ll stop being soppy soon, but bear in mind these thoughts have been mounting in my mind for aaaages! It feels good to get it out.)
I’m not saying that the simple things in life, your loved ones; your favourite song; sunshine or the smell of fresh coffee won’t make you happy; all I’m saying is that just knowing yourself… your likes, loves and limits is a good foundation.
We are only human
“Everybody is going through something”
Enough said really. Taking a moment to appreciate that everyone is fighting their own battles. Be a good human; be respectful.
Does anyone else have those moments where you feel like you’re working your ass but not really getting anywhere? With this in mind, I’ve learned that it is important to stop, take a moment and reflect. Keep going — you got this!
Another thing I will be trialling is to physically write down goals and achievements. The aim is to convert the thoughts into actions!

Remember to laugh
“Why so serious?” I’ve been asked this question a couple of times recently and I was a bit taken aback. Generally, I feel like I’m a positive person but obviously the aforementioned life happenings have made me a bit miserable (well sorry, I’m only human!). Or, maybe I’ve had a case of ‘resting bitch face’ recently, who knows, but anyway…it is a welcomed reminder to laugh — out loud — like the gut belly laughs that bring tears to your eyes!
Your health is your wealth
Similar to the first point, your mental and physical health is paramount to your overall wellbeing.
Investing in your health is vital, and it’s something I’ve taken more seriously lately. I’ve always enjoyed eating healthily, so no issues in that department, but understanding different foods, ingredients and knowing what my body responds well too is something I am learning to prioritise.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed this rambling post as much as I did writing it. And hopefully this is a step in the right direction, back to myself.
What have you learned so far this year? I’d love to know!
